PALM SPRINGS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

The Palm Springs Unified School District (PSUSD) had a unique branding problem — their existing logo had morphed into dozens of unsophisticated variations; it emphasized Palm Springs, but the district covered an area much larger; the schools in the district were not connected to the PSUSD identity; there was a new Foundation that needed an identity; and, most obviously, people were saying "PSUSD" but the logo didn't use the acronym. I redesigned the PSUSD and coordinating Foundation logos to better reflect a modern desert school district, with a new color palette and font choices, and more importantly, a "kit of parts" and templates to make the production of communications materials easier, more efficient, and more consistent.
